YBF is Australia’s original and largest tech and innovation hub, headquartered in Melbourne. Today it is proud to be home to over 400 members making up over 75 future-focused Australian and international technology startups and scaleups at its Melbourne CBD location alone. 

YBF Melbourne is the top-choice landing pad for international technology firms setting up operations in Australia. Uber, 90 Seconds, Foodora and Kickstarter started their Australian journeys from YBF. Currently, Silicon Valley’s Wrike, London’s PayBreak (Etika) and Silicon Slope unicorn, Lucidchart house their own APAC headquarters at YBF Melbourne.

YBF’s three-tiered mission is to help startups to scale, scaleups to success and corporates to innovate. As such, YBF is home to several large technology hubs that centre on key aspects of innovation for Victoria. Examples of these include the YBF Fintech Hub; the Australian LawTech Hub in collaboration with law firm, Lander & Rogers and SquareGrape, Australia’s first tech hub for the wine sector, in partnership with Treasury Wine Estates.

Lucidchart APAC Headquarters

November 2019 -

Based in Utah in the USA, Lucidchart is a global tech firm. In November 2019, the company opened its Asia Pacific headquarters at YBF Melbourne. Lucidchart enables its more than 15 million users to gain an elevated perspective on complex problems and processes through its powerful diagramming core and collaboration features. Users can automate layout and easily pull in data to layer additional information on top of their diagrams. This information provides added context for a more comprehensive view of relationships, interdependencies and areas of improvement, helping professionals of all fields solve problems, drive better business decisions and innovate faster. Lucidchart is used in over 180 countries and in seven languages. Over the next five years, Lucidchart plans to hire over 100 new positions in Melbourne, specifically focused around sales, customer success and marketing, with the goal to better support and grow its already robust APAC user base of more than three million knowledge workers. Current customers in the region include Woolworths Supermarkets, LINE Corporation, Coupang, Flipkart and Xero. Invest Victoria supported Lucidchart’s entry into the APAC market, and YBF played a key role in creating a productive launch environment for the company, as well as helping to introduce Lucidchart to the local tech community. Wrike APAC Headquarters

December 2018 -

Wrike is a global tech company that manages a collaborative work management platform. In December 2018, they opened their Asia Pacific headquarters at YBF Melbourne. The company’s global headquarters are in San Jose, California. Wrike helps organizations create new efficiencies, align work activity with the most important business objectives, and drive results. The company’s collaborative work management platform allows teams, departments, and whole organizations to plan, manage, and collaborate on projects and tasks in real-time. The Wrike platform operates across all functions to unify the enterprise in a single digital workplace with all the features, tools, and integrations needed to automate and complete work at scale. Invest Victoria supported Wrike’s entry into the APAC market, and YBF played a key role in creating a productive launch environment for the company, as well as helping to introduce Wrike to the local tech community. For example, an official launch party was held in the YBF Melbourne Ballroom with attendees from all over the sector as well as government leaders and ministers. Wrike CEO and Founder Andrew Filev said, “Opening an APAC HQ is an incredible milestone for Wrike. We are grateful to Invest Victoria Executive Director Daniel Bisignano, the Honourable Philip Dalidakis, and the whole YBF Ventures team for their support on this monumental occasion for Wrike. The APAC region offers a tremendous opportunity for Wrike as more and more companies are looking for a solution to help them better for plan, manage, and complete high value work at scale in the digital age.” In the first year of entering the market, Wrike’s footprint has grown from an initial launch team to a facility which can now accommodate 50 people at YBF Melbourne.
