In 2021, Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI) is celebrating 46 years as the peak national organization for two-way trade, investment and relations between Australia and the 22 member states of the Arab League.

AACCI is a membership based, not-for-profit organization with a representative office in each state. AACCI aims to engage, support and facilitate, two-way trade and investment opportunities for its members as well as build cross cultural awareness for business success.

AACCI is an active member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the International Chambers of Commerce and the Union of Arab Chambers. The Union of Arab Chambers represents the 22 countries of the Arab League which comprises over 400 million people including Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

AACCI represents the interests of its members with business activities across the full spectrum of the Australian economy from agriculture to manufacturing and education as well a growing array of professional services and new high-tech driven industries.

AACCI’s strategy is built on four pillars: member services, export certification services, advocacy and cultural understanding. Specifically, AACCI services encompass:

  • Issuing and certification of the Certificate of Australian Origin and supporting export trade documents
  • Engaging in advocacy on behalf of AACCI members to the Australian governments and regulatory bodies as well as with the Arab diplomatic missions to Australia
  • Providing information, referral and advisory services relating to compliance requirements for investments and exports of goods and services to the MENA countries
  • Facilitating of networking and business introductions for members through in person high profile events, hands on workshops and digital platforms for knowledge sharing, education and business opportunities such as B2B, B2G and G2G
  • Collaborating with Australian state and federal governments as well as diplomatic and trade missions across the MENA Region in promoting business initiatives through joint events such as the annual MENA Connections series or the upcoming Dubai 2020 Expo.
  • Building cultural awareness by participation and support of the diverse Arab communities’ cultural events such as performing arts, film festivals and iftar dinners.
  • Offering insights and education across diverse business etiquettes in the Arab world
